Etraveli is Europe’s fifth largest online travel agency. Their primary offering is flight tickets, but they also take hotel and rental car bookings.
At the end of 2014, The Rebellion was appointed to help Etraveli with their new market expansion under the brand name GotoGate. The brand was launched into 33 markets, including markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Before launch, research was done on each market individually to understand online readiness, demand and competition. We also provided localisation advice in order to make the sites as local as possible in terms of payment solutions, language and so on.
Before the launch, a detailed strategy was put in place to test the feasibility in different markets.
AdWords campaigns in various different languages (including languages with non-English alphabet) were built and managed with a strong focus on click-through rate and quality scores in a highly competitive landscape. Strategic landing page tests were done to see if gaps could be found in the markets to penetrate. Continuous testing is still done in these markets to gain market share and knowledge.
In 2015 and 2016 additional markets were launched. The Rebellion now manages the search engine marketing of 39 markets. Etraveli grew their revenue by 47% in Q3 2015.
